LS1 Powered Fourth Gen.
Camaros.

In 1998 Chevy began using the new
LS1 engine in the Camaro Z28 and
Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. This is a
completely diffrent engine than the
LT1 and is rated at a huge 305 HP
right from the factory floor. The '98
and up Camaro SS has a few
modifications and put out a mind
blowing 320 HP.

Under The Hood
|
This is what the 275 HP LT1 engine
looks like. It is similar to the older
small block Chevys but diffrent in a
few ways. It has reverse cooling
head, and D shaped exaust ports.
Unfortinately most small block parts
will not fit on the LT1. After market
parts seem to cost more than for the
standard SBC.
